A Fun Creative Outlet
Recently, I suffered another bout of idea block. I never get writer’s block because as soon as I have an idea, I write about it.
Writing is not the issue, it’s inspiration.
So, I was excited to read Amanda Laughtland’s article about acrostic poems.
It didn’t dawn on me at first, but I eventually realized that this type of poetry is so giving. All I needed was a word and the rest would be encouraged to follow.
So Many Exciting Possibilities
I’ve decided to identify a word or a phrase that feels relevant to me right now and write an acrostic poem about it. It will be interesting to go back and read them weeks or months later.
This is what I love about writing, expressing with words, poetry or whatever you want to label this craft as. We can find a way to delve into life’s narrow avenues and find unexpected treasures.
My unexpected treasure is acrostic poems.
I mentioned that the poems would be about what was happening in my life right now. So, here goes my first one.
