From 5th grade onward we enrolled my son in a virtual academy. So we went to school at home. I was his learning coach but not his teacher. We went on several school outings to waterparks, museums and more to meet his teachers and classmates in person. In the afternoons and summers he went to our local Boys and Girls club and made friends. My son started in class collage in 11th grade because we have a running start program here in Washington. I understand how homeschooling is viewed but also know how much it benefit my kiddo who struggles with large crowds. A great article.
